Requirement

Indicator applicability: marine salmonids in cages The UoC shall only stock a single cohort of fish per site.

How Do I Interpret This Requirement?

  • Gaps of up to six months between stocking inputs are acceptable as long as:

    • The smolts are derived from the same stripping.

    • There is a period when the site is fully fallow after harvest, in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Evidence of Implementation

  • Records:

    • Purchase.

    • Transportation.

    • Delivery.

    • Stocking.

    • Fallowing.

    • Production (fish size).

Auditors Should Confirm

  • The size of the fish matches that of a single year class by observing the stock.

  • The observation should be cross-checked with records.
